Primary Function
Conduct comprehensive and impartial investigations into complaints of maladministration against City of Johannesburg employees, gather and analyze evidence, interview relevant parties, produce detailed reports with findings and recommendations.

Investigate alleged acts or omissions of maladministration, engage public to promote awareness of the Ombudsman’s roles, compile investigation reports, monitor corrective actions, investigate Human Rights violations.
